Next week, thousands of HR professionals will descend upon Las Vegas for the annual HR Technology Conference & Expo. As a long-time attendee, I find the event to be a familiar constant in a sea of endless change in our business environments—an opportunity for us to bond as a community and share great new technologies and best practices.
The Workday team will participate in five speaking sessions. With workforce change on the minds of many HR managers, we’re excited to share what we’ve done with workforce planning & analytics in Workday HCM, and how it empowers HR to navigate those changes. Among the places I’ll discuss this is in the session, “Making HR Data More Data-Driven: Strategy, Technology, and Capability,” on Wednesday, 11 a.m.–12 p.m., Mandalay Bay Ballrooms A–B.
Or, if you want to hear first-hand from an awesome Workday customer, at that same time Scott Boston, vice president of Global Talent Management & HR Operations at Kimberly-Clark, will present in a session to be opened by Workday Chairman and Co-Founder Dave Duffield. Scott will talk about how workforce analytics at Kimberly-Clark led to better talent decisions and business results in the session, “Transforming Kimberly-Clark With Fact-Based HR,” Wednesday, 11 a.m.–12 p.m., Lagoon K-L.
In addition, customers Cardinal Health, Equifax, Four Seasons, Medtronic, and MGM Resorts will be in our booth #1911 to talk about their how they are using Workday to transform their businesses. Please come by and say hello, and bring any questions you have for them.
And while the best things about HR Tech will never change—great parties, inspiring discussions, seeing old friends, and making new ones—the conference has a new co-chair this year, Steve Boese, who along with co-chair David Shadovitz, has mixed things up a bit. Here are some changes I’m excited about, and where you’ll also find Workday.
- A new panel, “The Modern CHRO: A Conversation With Today’s HR and Business Leaders,” which includes Ashley Goldsmith, senior vice president and CHRO at Workday, among an impressive line-up of esteemed HR executives. Wednesday, 1:30–2:30 p.m., Mandalay Bay Ballrooms K-L.
- A new technical track called “Behind the Curtain,” featuring a panel on “Building the Next Generation of HR Technologies” with Joe Korngiebel, vice president of user experience at Workday. Thursday, 10:45–11:45 a.m., Mandalay Bay Ballrooms A–B.
- A different kind of “Awesome New Technologies” event. This year participants will be separated into two groups: startups and established companies. Workday will be in the latter group, and I’ll showcase Workday Recruiting, which is already transforming the recruiting and talent acquisition process for our customers. Thursday, 1:30–3:00 p.m., Mandalay Bay Ballrooms E–H.
Finally, there’s one more annual HR Tech tradition that must be mentioned—the Workday after-hours celebration! Join us for drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the stunning LIGHT Nightclub, turned on by Cirque du Soleil. Meet Workday customers and executives, mingle with your colleagues, and marvel at the dazzling light performance and aerial acrobatics. This event will reach capacity so register today with the names in your party to secure entry. Wednesday, 6:30–9:30 p.m., LIGHT Nightclub, Mandalay Bay.
We’ll also be reporting live from the show floor through the Workday social media channels including Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, and Twitter. You can follow us at @workday and participate in the conversation with the hashtag #HRTechConf. Look forward to seeing you, and until then, safe travels!
