Workday Publishes its 2015 Global Impact Report

Workday’s 2015 Global Impact Report, released today, details sustainable business practices and our efforts to make a positive difference for customers, employees, communities, and the environment.

At Workday, we take great pride in providing our customers with enterprise applications that help them tackle some of today’s most complex business challenges. We obsess about innovation and never lose sight of how we can deliver products that help our customers continue to grow.

Our focus on innovation extends beyond our products and services to include how we think about addressing some of today’s most pressing business, social, and environmental challenges. Our Global Impact Report details Workday’s sustainable business practices and the efforts we are taking to make a positive difference for our customers, employees, the communities in which we operate, and the environment.

In our third report to date, we aim to provide a transparent view into our efforts in each of these areas, highlighting the progress we’ve made and the areas where we still need to improve. By doing so, we hope to create a dialogue between Workday and our stakeholders that spark continued innovation and improvement.

Our 2015 Global Impact Report covers the reporting period of our fiscal years 2014 and 2015 (Feb. 2013 – Jan. 2015). The full report and past reports can be viewed here. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Our environmental focus continues to be on reducing Workday’s carbon footprint and investing in renewable energy programs. We are proud to operate as a 100% Green Power Purchaser, offsetting all non-renewable energy usage in our offices and data centers. Employee-run Green Teams also sit at each of our largest offices, and are responsible for implementing office sustainability initiatives.
  • The health of the Workday culture is as important today as it was when we were founded. Treating our employees with fairness and respect, offering competitive pay and benefits, and making fun a priority is only part of what has proudly landed us on multiple “Best Places to Work” lists. We also offer career-coaching and career-growth programs, tools, and resources, along with a portfolio of learning and networking experiences to employees around the world. This special focus on employee development as well as our core values has been critical in maintaining our culture as we’ve more than doubled the number of employees from the end of calendar year 2012 through the end of fiscal year 2015.
  • The Workday Foundation’s philanthropic programs continue to evolve and provide support for our communities across the globe. In fiscal 2015, Workday employees logged nearly 10,000 volunteer hours and we matched $421,000 of employee donations to organizations that our employees support.  In the future, you will see us turning more of our attention to our strategic focus area, workforce development, which includes providing services such as job readiness training, internships, and mentorships.
  • For a cloud-based enterprise software company, product responsibility means a tireless pursuit of customer satisfaction. We make it a priority to commit to this standard and have achieved a 97% customer satisfaction rating for the last three years. And since our 2012 report was released, we have expanded our education offerings for customers and partners to more than 230 courses, which include videos, interactive exercises, quizzes, and tests wrapped up into one comprehensive online learning curriculum.
