I told my kids I’m super excited about my October trip to “the happiest place on earth.” But this time, instead of hugs from Mickey and pictures with Ariel, I’m looking forward to smiles and selfies with our Workday customers. My kids just rolled their eyes and said, “Yeah, whatever, Mom.” They don’t get it, but if you’ve been to Workday Rising before, you know this is our community’s “magic kingdom.”
Workday Rising is in Orlando this year, and it’s already shaping up to be a great time together. A month later, many of our European customers will join us at Workday Rising Europe in Milan. At both conferences, it’s all about community, and there’s no substitute for meeting up in person.
Last year we had more than 8,000 of you, our customers, at these events to collaborate with each other, meet one-on-one with industry and product experts, and take advantage of professional development opportunities.
Every Workday Rising is different, and as we continue to grow, we continually improve these events to make sure you get the most out of the time you spend with us. We appreciate the input you provided us last year about your experiences, and have made some changes for 2019.

Along with those opportunities for learning, I’ve asked the Working Rising team to add tracks on two things that often come up in my team’s conversations with customers: You’ve told us you want to learn more about how to build an adoption strategy and facilitate change management. Let’s take a closer look at those two areas.
I believe adoption is one of the biggest areas of opportunity for our customers. You already know how powerful Workday can be—but we want you to get even more value out of the products that you own. How can you take employee, manager, and executive experiences to the next level?
That’s why at Workday Rising, we’re going to talk a lot about adoption. There are sessions to introduce you to all the tools and resources included in your subscription. You can also learn about the Adoption Dashboard, and not just using it to leverage data and reports, but how to use it as a hub for feature release management, optimization requests, and issue resolution.
We’ll have a session where customers share how they plan for updates and take advantage of Workday’s continuous innovation, and communicate with and train their users across their organization. In another session, Workday customers from different industries, each facing different challenges, will share their successes and lessons learned from their own Workday adoption journeys. You won’t want to miss these.
When you talk about adoption and driving new business outcomes, you also have to talk about change management. You want your organization to embrace Workday, use it as intended, and establish patterns of success. So, if you have questions about how to do that, check out some of our new change management sessions.
In these sessions, you’ll learn how to build a collaborative culture that’s resilient to change, with a plan that includes everyone from your executive sponsor to your end users. You’ll hear more on how to choose your change management leaders, recommended activities at each project stage, and real-life examples from customers who have championed change successfully.
Every year, we bring you, our community, together to share solutions to complex challenges, explore what’s possible with technology, and shape the future of business. When we partner together, there’s no limit to how far we can go.
Whether you’re brand new to Workday, a long-time customer, or just beginning to consider our solutions, Workday Rising will be a magical event to remember, and I hope to see you in Orlando or Milan.
