Workday for Microsoft Teams: Helping Our Customers Work More Efficiently

We’re excited to announce Workday for Microsoft Teams, which empowers people to get daily activities done faster and more efficiently by bringing Workday into a natural workspace used by many of our customers.

Over the past few months, people and businesses around the world have reinvented how to collaborate with each other and get work done. More than ever before, people are working and connecting remotely.

Enterprise collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Teams, have become absolutely essential to help drive projects forward, keep people connected, and offer a place to turn ideas into action across teams and organizations.

That’s why we’re excited to announce Workday for Microsoft Teams, which empowers people to get daily activities done faster and more efficiently by bringing Workday into their natural workspace.

What’s New for Customers Using Microsoft Teams

With Workday for Microsoft Teams, your people can quickly access Workday data and tasks without having to leave their collaboration environment. They can easily find information about colleagues and organizations, provide empowering feedback to team members (particularly helpful during remote work), request time off, and submit expenses.

With “Ask Workday,” your people can also chat with Workday Assistant from within Microsoft Teams to get fast answers and links to frequently used data and tasks. For example, Workday Assistant can help with common questions about benefits, payroll, tax forms, reference letters, and retirement savings. Powered by machine learning, Workday Assistant is now an essential part of Workday.

In this release, Workday for Microsoft Teams (available on Microsoft AppSource) makes it possible for users to:

  • Find, connect, and collaborate with someone without switching tools.

  • Increase employee engagement and acknowledge great work by giving feedback.

  • Manage time off by quickly checking balances and submitting requests in the moment.

  • Save time on expense reports by simply taking a picture of a receipt.

  • Accelerate hiring decisions by quickly gathering interview feedback on job candidates.

Millions of people rely on both Workday and Microsoft Teams on a daily basis. And, as these uncertain times demonstrate, business continuity often depends on cloud solutions that are reliable, secure, and high performing—especially when usage suddenly skyrockets.

Looking Ahead

We think it’s vital to bring the power of Workday into the workspaces that our customers use every single day. Collaboration tools are where work—now more than ever—gets done. We’re excited to bring more value to users of both Workday and Microsoft Teams, and look forward to the opportunities a more connected future will bring for our customers.
