Workday Welcomes Naomi Osaka as Newest Brand Ambassador

Naomi Osaka strives for excellence both on and off the tennis court, and has become a leading voice in the social justice movement. We’re proud to have her as a member of the Workday community.

At Workday, we invest in partnerships that extend our brand beyond business and into the daily lives of our customers, and that includes partnering with athletes who reflect our core values. As part of this, we’re excited to announce our newest brand ambassador Naomi Osaka. Both on and off the tennis court Osaka strives to do her best (those swings are spectacular!), including doing the right thing to support the greater good, which is why we’re proud to welcome her to the Workday community.

In tennis, Osaka is known for her powerful serve, mental toughness, and strong forehand. She is of Japanese, Haitian, and American heritage, and represents Japan in competition. Osaka is the first Asian player to hold the Women Tennis Association’s No.1 ranking in singles and the first Japanese player to win a Grand Slam. She’s also a three-time Grand Slam singles champion and the reigning champion of the U.S. Open.

Just as impressive are the contributions she’s made off the court. She’s a leading voice of the social justice movement, using both her personal experiences and observations on the social and racial events of the world to have a voice—and be a champion for others—on equality. It’s because of who she is—both as a person and an athlete—that she’s been named Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year, Associated Press Female Athlete of Year, and one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People, among many other accolades.

“Tennis has done so much for me. I love the game and how I feel on the court, but I also value the opportunity I have to drive change. My platform has allowed me to shine a light on important social issues and have conversations that really matter,” said Osaka. “I take great pride in who I partner with and am honored to team up with Workday. We have shared values, and together, we will continue to strive to do the right thing.

You can see Osaka wearing the Workday logo on her match dress starting at the “A Day at the Drive” curtain-raiser event in Adelaide, Australia on Jan. 29 (Jan. 28 in the U.S.) . Welcome, Naomi Osaka, to the Workday family of brand ambassadors!
