For Workday, success isn't just a measure of our financial performance—it's a measure of our impact. With the trust of over 11,000 customers and the dedication of more than 19,000 Workmates, we are a Fortune 500 company that leads with integrity. We are channeling our global presence to build a more sustainable future for everyone we serve: our customers, our employees, our communities, and our planet.

In our “2025 Global Impact Report,” which covers our fiscal year that ended January 31, 2025, we underscore how our environmental, social, and governance initiatives are not separate undertakings, but rather integral components of a holistic business strategy. It details the progress we’ve made and the path we continue to forge, driven by our core values and a belief in the power of business to be a force for good. This integrated approach drives innovation, mitigates risks, and, ultimately, creates long-term value for all our stakeholders.

Helping Others Innovate

At Workday, we recognize the critical role we play in enabling our customers to achieve their own responsible business objectives. Our focus on responsible business also encompasses fostering inclusive economic growth through the power of AI.

With the continued advancement of Workday Illuminate and Workday Skills Cloud, we are democratizing work by valuing skills and experience, breaking down traditional barriers to employment. We’re providing the tools necessary to navigate evolving regulatory landscapes and drive meaningful progress through strategic partnerships and innovative platform enhancements. This includes our integrations with Pulsora for streamlined sustainability reporting and solutions built on Workday Adaptive Planning for emissions tracking and climate risk assessments.

Our focus on responsible business also encompasses fostering inclusive economic growth through the power of AI.

Protecting the Planet

We believe that tackling climate change demands bold and collective action. Guided by our values, we support cutting-edge, science-based efforts to help us on our path to a sustainable 1.5°C future. Beyond providing all of our 11,000 customers with a carbon-neutral cloud, continuing to source 100% renewable electricity, and reaching net-zero for our own residual emissions, we are actively forging innovative partnerships to advance climate solutions.

Our multi-year carbon credit offtake agreement, which supports the industry leading work of plugging orphaned oil and gas wells leaking methane into our atmosphere, exemplifies this commitment. We are also proud members of Frontier, a $1 billion advance market commitment aimed at accelerating the development of carbon removal technologies by guaranteeing their future demand. As part of our commitment to transition to permanent carbon removal by fiscal year 2031, we signed offtake agreements across diverse carbon removal technologies last year, including direct air capture, biomass retrofits, deep underground injection, enhanced weathering, and the world’s first river liming deal.

We also announced a new social impact virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) in partnership with LevelTen Energy and Starbucks to support a 350MW solar project that will provide 233GWh of renewable energy yearly. Beyond the environmental impact, this project in Concho County, Texas—located within an energy community, meaning an area with a history of fossil fuel industry activity—will support local economic development.

This is the first PPA to provide financial support for RAIN-UP, a program promoting renewable energy opportunities for socially disadvantaged farmers, ranchers, and landowners. This initiative directly aligns with Workday’s focus on creating positive social impact through our environmental investments, fostering workforce development, promoting community well-being, and enabling a more sustainable world. Through our partnerships with climate leaders, we aim to amplify our impact and signal the vital role of business investment in scalable climate solutions.

We believe that tackling climate change demands bold and collective action.

Putting People First

Our employees are our greatest asset and our number one core value. We have continued to nurture our unique culture and work each day to enhance the lives of our Workmates by building a workplace that is inclusive, supportive, and provides opportunities for everyone to grow and thrive.

This employee-centric approach is actualized through four key priorities:

  1. Fostering a positive employee experience that prioritizes well-being
  2. Enabling continuous upskilling with a skills-first strategy for career development
  3. Cultivating our culture of Value Inclusion & Belonging for Everyone (VIBE)
  4. Making a positive community impact by creating employment opportunities that address the opportunity gap.

Together, these priorities create an empowering environment where our people can do their best work.

We also continued our skills-based organization (SBO) transformation this past fiscal year, including the development of a standardized Executive Skills Assessment in Workday Extend. As a result, 100% of Workday employees now have essential skills aligned to their jobs on their profiles, and 65% accessed development and job recommendations through skills matches in the WorkdayTalent Marketplace.

More than 13,000 active employees have completed onboarding in Career Hub, and we continue to build more opportunities to leverage our solutions to enable growth. For example, Workday data showed that internal mobility was nearly 50% greater for employees who participated in a gig than for those who did not.

As for the Workday Foundation, we’ve invested in workforce development organizations that focus on reskilling workers for digitally-enabled career paths and supporting a low-carbon economy. This year, the Workday Foundation provided $7.7 million in grants to organizations supporting workforce development ecosystems, green jobs, and global issues impacting our communities.

Acting With Integrity

Integrity is a core value woven into the fabric of our global operations. We believe that conducting business ethically and responsibly is essential for our long-term success and our positive impact on the world. I’m incredibly proud that for the fifth consecutive year, Workday has been recognized by Ethisphere as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies. This prestigious accolade underscores our unwavering commitment to these principles.

As we look to the future, we are focused on enhancing customer experiences using AI to elevate human capabilities. We know that people will always be essential to business, and we build our technologies to increase efficiencies and provide insights that help people do their work more effectively and with greater impact.

Last year, we obtained third-party validation of our processes against the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and certified our program to the new ISO 42001 standard for AI management. To further embed this expertise both internally and externally, we focused on three key initiatives last year: the launch of the Workday AI Masterclass series, developing comprehensive responsible AI training integrated into our Code of Conduct for all employees, and the ongoing development of trustworthy AI solutions aimed at elevating human potential. In addition, Workday has continued to be a leading voice in the rapidly evolving AI policy landscape advocating for smart AI safeguards that build trust and drive innovation. These initiatives collectively ensure our innovations are built with integrity, empowering customers with reliable AI.

We are energized by the opportunities that lie ahead and remain steadfast in our pursuit of a more sustainable and equitable future. Thank you for being a part of the Workday journey. We are committed to transparency and will continue to share our progress and learnings in the years to come.
