Embrace What’s Possible: Join Us at Conversations for a Changing World

At our digital event September 28-29, we’ll connect you with global leaders and changemakers to discuss leading through uncertainty and how we can work together to create a brighter future for all. We’ll also provide an in-depth look at new Workday product features and innovations that will help you thrive in a continuously changing world.

This year has continued to bring about drastic change, and we’re all doing our best to keep our communities healthy and safe as we adapt to continued uncertainty. Yet at the same time, there’s plenty to be optimistic about. Support for each other and our communities, the power of digital acceleration, and the impact of innovation shine brighter than ever before. We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make positive changes and emerge stronger than ever.

That’s why we’re thrilled to be hosting Conversations for a Changing World again, a digital event that will spotlight how we can work together to lead and make a positive impact in our continuously changing world. With the event coming up September 28-29, we’re getting increasingly excited to bring our community together to gain inspiration, learn from one another, discover new ways to innovate—and have some fun, too!

This year’s global event will be brought to you from our headquarters in Pleasanton, California, and will bring together innovative business leaders who are preparing for the future, inspiring changemakers who are addressing some of our biggest societal issues, and incredible executives from our customer community who will share how they’ve overcome challenges in these dynamic times. And after listening to attendees’ feedback from last year, we’ve added a second day to the event with sessions that provide an in-depth look at new Workday product features and our emerging innovations. Here’s what you can look forward to

Conversations with Changemakers

Soledad O’Brien, award-winning journalist, entrepreneur, and host of the weekly syndicated political show Matter of Fact, will lead conversations with our changemakers. O’Brien will connect with José Andrés, Spanish restaurateur, chef, and founder of World Central Kitchen, and Guy Fieri, chef, bestselling author, and EMMY award winner, to talk about food, business, giving back, and driving positive impact in the food industry and the broader community.

She’ll have a conversation with Stephen Curry, the All-Star point guard for the Golden State Warriors, a three-time National Basketball Association champion, and two-time MVP, and Ayesha Curry, a successful entrepreneur, restaurateur, and bestselling author, about how they bring lasting change to communities and the role strong partnerships and purpose-driven leadership play in their foundation’s success.

And Alan Murray, chief executive officer at Fortune, will also sit down with some of our changemakers. He’ll have a discussion with Mary Barra, Chair and CEO of General Motors, to get her perspective on the changing world, and the company’s vision for a world with zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion.

Murray will also speak with Amal Clooney, a top international law and human rights barrister with Doughty Street Chambers, about how organizations can best move forward during a time of such rapid change.

And to round it out, we think there’s a great tie between the worlds of sports and business, and Murray will bring those worlds together through a conversation with two of Workday’s newest brand ambassadors: National Football League superstars Larry Fitzgerald and Peyton Manning, who are inspiring leaders—both on and off the playing field.

We’re honored to connect with changemakers who share our value of leading with integrity and are focused on the imperatives in front of us—both for business and the world.

Conversations with Customers

Business leaders know now more than ever that business growth, technological advancement, and social and environmental impact are all connected. Who’s better to discuss these opportunities than our very own customers?

In our Leadership Voices sessions, we’re honored to be joined by some seriously impressive C-suite executives from Accenture, H&R Block, NASDAQ, and Unilever to share their insights and to inspire everyone to bring new ideas back to their organizations. They’ll dive into the following topics:

  • Digital acceleration. Technology innovation and accessible, robust data continues to be essential for business planning, continuity, and growth. This year we’ll expand on how digital acceleration is transforming industries and sectors, so that organizations can be innovative and future-ready.

  • Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and business growth. Organizations can support positive change throughout society. By making ESG a core aspect of business strategy and decision making, organizations can drive value and create sustainable, equitable futures for their communities.

  • Employee experience reset. Delivering employee experiences that promote productivity, enable engagement, and help workers thrive and adapt to the remote and hybrid workplace is key to attracting and retaining top talent.

  • Opportunity outlook. Achieving equity in your workforce is good for society and good for business. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are helping organizations better leverage existing talent, promote a culture of opportunity, and nurture more equitable, inclusive workplaces.

And this is just the beginning—on day two, we have much more goodness in store for you from our customers and partners who are leading the way on these complex topics. They will generously share their success stories, and engage in live Q&A with you.

Conversations About Innovations

We’ll build on the ideas for adapting in our changing world with a focus on Workday in action. In our Workday Innovation Outlook mainstage session, Aneel Bhusri, co-founder, co-chief executive officer, and chairman at Workday, will sit down with O’Brien for an engaging conversation focused on today’s biggest imperatives and the responsibility organizations have in shaping the future. Bhusri will discuss the technology and solutions Workday is creating, and the investments we’re making to help our customers lead and thrive for years to come.

And on day two, O’Brien will be back to co-host with Pete Schlampp, executive vice president of product development, as we bring you detailed sessions about Workday’s vision and strategy across all of our key products and the people we build them for, including the offices of the CFO, CHRO, and CIO.

Workday experts will share best practices and will be available in interactive “Ask Workday” sessions, and all attendees will have access to a packed content library to explore at your own pace, including demos, trends and solution sessions, customer stories, and more.

We’ll “See” You There

With three times the content of last year’s event, there’s something valuable for everyone across business functions. New this year we’re introducing an entire channel focused on industries and the business challenges, opportunities, and solutions unique to each.

And it would not be a Workday event without opportunities to connect with peers, experience fun surprises along the way, and enjoy some fabulous entertainment! We’re excited to share that we'll host an exclusive musical performance by GRAMMY award-winning artist Train. So put on your dancing shoes, and we’ll see you there.
