True leaders—whether in the world of sports or business—guide with integrity, have an innovative mindset, and take care of their teammates and communities. At Workday, we apply those core values in all that we do and seek to partner with individuals who embody them. That’s why we’re excited to announce our two newest brand ambassadors: Larry Fitzgerald, Jr. and Peyton Manning.
Committed to His Community and Sport
Larry Fitzgerald is best known for being a star National Football League (NFL) wide receiver, known for his commitment to exceptional sportsmanship, integrity, and passion for helping others. In 2015, he received the NFL’s Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, and in 2016, the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.
On the field, Fitzgerald is a once-in-a-generation athlete. He plays big and consistently, which is why he’s been named a member of the NFL 100 All-Time Team. Fitzgerald was a first-round pick in the 2004 NFL draft and played 17 seasons for the Arizona Cardinals, serving as a team captain for 11 seasons.
Off the field and equally as impressive, Fitzgerald serves as a strong community ambassador for the NFL. In 2005, he founded The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation, which promotes reading proficiency and technology access for K-12 youth, and supports efforts to prevent and cure breast cancer and help breast cancer survivors.
“Whether I’m competing on the football field or helping people in need, I always try to focus on using my voice and platform for good,” said Fitzgerald. “I’m incredibly proud to be teaming up with Workday, given our shared values and the opportunity to further support inclusiveness and innovation in sports, business, and communities.”
Five-Time NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Co-Founder of the PeyBack Foundation
Nicknamed “The Sheriff” for his ability to dominate and lead on the field, Peyton Manning is equally as passionate about putting his leadership and execution skills to good use in supporting at-risk children. A recipient of the Lincoln Medal, the Byron “Whizzer” White NFL Man of the Year Award, and the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, Manning lives his life by values that align with the Workday community.
Manning is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in NFL history. He is the NFL’s only five-time MVP and a 14-time Pro Bowl pick. He retired from the game in 2016 with impressive records, including throwing the most career touchdown passes in league history and ranking first all-time in completions and passing yards. Manning has been selected for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2021, and we can’t wait to cheer him on, on August 8, during Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week.
Off the field, Manning is known for his philanthropic work, which includes sitting on the advisory boards of The Pat Summitt Foundation and the American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet. Together with his wife Ashley, they established the PeyBack Foundation in 2009 to promote the future success of disadvantaged youth by assisting programs that provide leadership and growth opportunities for children at risk.
“Being able to navigate change, make decisions quickly, and do the right thing is applicable both on the field and off,” said Manning. “Workday provides companies with the tools they need to do just that, which is why I’m excited about our partnership. I look forward to teaming up and building on our shared commitment to lead and drive change for good.”
Welcome, Larry Fitzgerald and Peyton Manning, to the Workday network of brand ambassadors!
