In this article, we discuss:

At our Workday Healthcare Provider and Payor Summit, customers came together to celebrate innovation in our healthcare community. Below we share the innovation award winners announced at this year’s summit.

Honoring Innovators in Our Customer Community

Our annual awards honor healthcare providers and payors who make a valuable impact in their organization and support others within the customer community. Awards fall into five categories: collaboration champion, digital transformation, process innovation, trailblazer, and payor excellence.

Digital Transformation: Banner Health

Banner Health improved its process for tracking certifications and licenses by using Workday as the system of record. To support this effort, the team implemented Workday integration with NURSYS, a verification system for nursing licenses. This helped ensure information accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Now, Banner Health successfully validates and monitors license information for its 18,000 nurses. And, the internal care delivery teams can more easily deliver reports on this data for survey audits.

Process Innovation: PCM Trials

PCM Trials was the first organization to integrate Workday with the security platform Azure Sentinel SIEM. This integration enables PCM Trials to proactively and automatically defend against security threats. As cybersecurity becomes an increasing concern across the industry, this work provides a path for other healthcare organizations to follow suit.

This process automation enables PCM Trials to be highly effective in its security defenses and able to defend against ongoing threats with fewer resources.

Collaboration Champion: Community Health Services of Georgia (CHS-Ga)

Leaders from Community Health Services of Georgia accept the Collaboration Champion Award.

For almost a decade, CHS-Ga has been a contributor to the online Workday Community portal for customers. The organization—an early adopter of Workday Financial Management—has continued to provide input into the evolution of Workday products.

Recently, it became the first customer to try a new approach to completing the Value Assessment process, which involved cross-functional dialogue to populate the Value Assessment surveys. To gather this information, the team facilitated a group qualitative meeting where over 15 employees from across the organization, including executives and senior leaders, shared insights. These efforts have led to other collaborative conversations about how to improve the use of Workday across the organization.

Trailblazer: Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS)

Leaders from Northeast Georgia Health System accept the Trailblazer Award.

NGHS served as a design partner on the integration between Workday and ShiftWizard, a cloud-based scheduling system. It was the first health system to go live with the integration, and now all 14,000 employees across business operations and clinical staff use Workday Time Tracking to record hours, approve time entry, and manage PTO.

Others can now follow the team’s lead by embracing self-scheduling and data flow between cloud-based scheduling designed for healthcare and unified time tracking, absence, and payroll functions in Workday.

Payor Excellence: A Not for Profit Health Insurance Provider

Confidentiality hasn’t stopped this customer from being an early adopter of several Workday products. As a power-user of employee-experience–focused products, the organization transformed its support model using Workday Help. One innovative use case illustrates how it leveraged Workday Help to track and monitor employee interest in the health programs the organization offers to its members.

With Workday Journeys, the team improved the onboarding process, and simplified compliance and end-of-year tasks. The team also shared its experiences with others in our Workday Community customer portal to help others get more value from Workday products.
